Traditional wet-laid scantle slate roof

A small wet laid scantle slate roof.
*NOTE this job was not undertaken by stonecraft , it was built by a number of students (including Andrew Trevivian) on a heritage skills course run by the CSBT (Cornish sustainable building trust). The course was taught by Vivian Stratton.
Stonecraft can now offer wet laid scantle slate roof work as a result of helping to lay this roof and learning all the skills needed on this course. The art and craft of laying scantle roofs is fast becoming a lost skill.

Lime rendering on cob, also part of the CSBT training.
